Harald Georgi was born in 1973 in Germany. He studied at the colleges for music in Dresden and Berlin with Michael Ameln and Professor Michael Sanderling. While a student Harald already started to work professionally with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin and, shortly after graduating, with the Staatstheater Kassel, the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken.

From 2002 to 2008 Harald held the position of sub-principal cello with the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau. He taught in different music academies in Germany and instructed the cello section of the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Saxony-Anhalt and of the Youth Orchestra “Sinfonietta Bardou” in France, where he performed as a soloist.

In 2005 Harald was a scholarship holder at the Association of the Wagner Societies (Richard-Wagner-Verband). In 2003 he founded the music ensemble Quartet O-TON and played chamber music throughout Germany and regularly at the Festival Orgel Plus in Bottrop. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and has joined the Qatar Music Academy in September 2014 to teach the cello.
